Lead Software Developer

We are Topflight, a team of innovative product managers, founders, designers, and developers. Together our mission is to build products that help millions of lives, and we do that by tackling some of the biggest problems in healthcare and fintech.  Our company was founded in 2017 in Irvine, California, and each year since, we have roughly doubled, reaching the $4 million revenue mark last year and raising our first seed fund as well. Due to our expansions, we’re looking for a high-growth Senior Full-Stack Developer ready to transition into their first Lead role. We need a modern architecture enthusiast and AI-augmented power user who is ready to lead our projects and team by example.

The key characteristics we're looking for are:

5 to 8 years of experience building production-level web and mobile applications.

Mastery of the Modern Stack: Strong expertise in Next.js (App Router), React,  React Native, and Node.js.

Advanced TypeScript: Deep understanding of type-safe development across the entire stack.

Previous experience managing multiple projects simultanously. 

Passion for AI-powered coding and preference to use AI tools for development.

Best-in-class English communication skills.

Architectural Vision: Sound understanding of MVC, serverless architectures, and modern design patterns.

Database & ORM: Strong skills in PostgreSQL and hands-on experience with Supabase and Drizzle ORM.

Projects You’ll Be Working On:

As an agency, you will be in charge of a variety of innovative projects aiming to push the limits in healthcare, fintech, edtech, crypto, and on-demand space.

Important to know:

Since we are fully remote and our team is across the globe, you are expected to interact with different teams and need to be flexible with different time zones. All our employees must overlap at a minimum between 7 AM and 11 AM Pacific Standard Time.

Annual Salary:

Up to $114,000

Your Responsibilities Include:

Collaborate with our leadership team to drive innovation and technological advancements.

Lead in technology stack selection, cloud platform solutions, and 3rd-party API integrations.

Enhance development workflows, oversee CI/CD processes, and implement best practices for a scalable team. Set and achieve development team KPIs, ensuring efficiency, quality, and timely project delivery.

Building up and leading a small team of developers with a startup mentality. This includes overseeing the recruitment of new hires and team management for the department.

Make strategic decisions on resource allocation, risk management, and scalability to ensure project success.

Manage product ownership alignment & streamline communication between technical & product teams.

Bonus: Cloud Infrastructure: Knowledge of AWS, Vercel, and CI/CD pipelines; 0 to 6 months experience as Tech Lead
